Dr. Mihai Aluas

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine
Dr. Aluas is the proud new owner of Cedar River Animal Hospital. He grew up in Romania where his love of animals began at an early age. After graduating from veterinary school in 1998, he and his wife moved to Chicago and started a family. In 2003, he graduated North American Veterinary License program at Iowa State University. He then returned to Chicago where he practiced as an associate veterinarian for 5 years.

Dr. Aluas is passionate about veterinary medicine and has a strong background and interest in surgery, pain management, and emergency and critical care. He performs a wide variety of soft tissue procedures as well as orthopedic surgeries. He also enjoys managing internal medicine cases or educating clients about disease prevention and the daily needs of their pets’.

In 2008, Dr. Aluas visited Seattle and quickly fell in love with the Pacific Northwest which is the reason he and his family decided to make it their permanent home. Dr. Aluas, his wife and his two children love spending time with their 10-year-old lab who thinks he is still a puppy and taking care of their aquarium where they house a lot of fish! His hobbies include, fishing, snowboarding, and traveling, but he most enjoys spending time his family and friends!


Veterinary Assistant
Kasi graduated from the PIMA medical institutions Veterinary Assistant program in June of 2016. She chose to perform her externship at Cedar River Animal Hospital and grew to really enjoy the staff and pets that come in. Kasi has a dog named Koda Bear at home who is a very sweet pup and enjoys being one of her family members.


Practice Manager
Kristine started at Cedar River in January 2019. She has over 17 years of experience in veterinary medicine. She has a special passion for surgery, dentistry, and senior pet care. When the opportunity to work at Cedar River came along she was excited to join the team. Her main goal is for every pet that comes to Cedar River is treated like family. Kristine grew up in the Renton Highlands and is excited to serve the community that helped rise her. She has 3 dogs all dachshunds mixes Ralph, Stewie and Ricky and an orange tabby cat named Nick. In her free time, she enjoys baking cakes and other sweet treats along with hiking and camping the beautiful pacific northwest. She is also a huge comic book fan!


Veterinary Assistant

Holly has been in the veterinary field since 2012. She has completed a veterinary assistant program through San Juan college and is now almost finished with the Associate degree program which will enable her to get her veterinary technician license.

She also earned her associate degree in business administration in 2018 and is currently pursuing her bachelors degree.

Her favorite tasks at work include dental cleanings and lion cut cat shaves. At home, she has two cats of her own named Bosley and Mazzy. Holly has also developed a fondness for Chihuahuas over the years and has two named Tippy and Tiger.


Licensed Veterinary Technician

Kira Savage knew at a young age that she wanted to have a career in Veterinary Medicine. She is originally from Southern California and moved to Washington in 2012 to attend Washington State University. There, she graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Animal Science/Pre-Veterinary. After graduating, she decided to go to PIMA Medical Institute to earn her Associates degree and become a Licensed Veterinary Technician. Kira’s favorite aspects of veterinary medicine include assisting in surgeries and making a positive impact for animals and their owners.

Aside from working, Kira loves to go to the gym, hike, camp, and hang out with her husband and their pug, “Mocha.”


Licensed Veterinary Technician

Sarah graduated from PIMA Medical Institutes Veterinary Technician Program with an associates degree. She has always had a passion and unique love for animals since she was young, which lead her to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. Aside from being a LVT Sarah is a part-time soldier in the Army National Guard. In her free time, you will find her volunteering at a local animal shelter, camping with her husband, or relaxing at home with her current animals, which includes Tinker the dachshund, Marlo the pitbull mix, Tasha the black cat, Sakura the bearded dragon, and two guinea pigs named Charlie and Darla.


Veterinary Assistant

Virginia is a Pima graduate and a West Seattle native. She developed her love for animals at a very young age. Ever since she was a young child she can remember pets being in the household. Virginia has over 5 years of experience in the veterinary field. She began her career in emergency medicine and loved it. She has a great interest in orthopedic medicine and preventative care. You can find Virginia in the front greeting our clients or in the back helping with our patients. Virginia has 2 dogs, a 5-year-old Chihuahua named Ewok and a 5-year-old Pitbull named Termite. She has 3 young children that she loves to educate on animals, sports and exploring the beautiful northwest and all it has to offer. She may have her hands full but there isn’t a challenge she is not up to.


Licensed Veterinary Technician

Wesley received his Veterinary Technician License in 2017 and loves working with cats and dogs. He has always been drawn to animals and currently has three dogs, two Guinea pigs, a red tail boa, and a bearded dragon. Wes started his journey to animal care by getting a bachelor’s degree in Cellular Biology from Central Washington University.
