Laparoscopy or “key hole surgery” is a minimally invasive way to examine the organs in the abdomen and chest. It is a safe technique that significantly reduces pain allowing for speedy recovery. Anesthesia time can also be reduced which is important in geriatric and compromised patients. Here are some of the laparoscopic procedures offered at CRAH:

  • Ovariectomy (spay)
  • Gastropexy for prevention of gastric dilatation and volvulus (GDV)
  • Abdominal testicles removal (cryptorchid)
  • Laparoscopically assisted urinary bladder and intestinal surgery
  • Abdominal organs exploration and biopsies
